  • DAY 03: Salta | Cachi | Cafayate Departure from Salta to the Calchaquies Valleys visiting Cachi; Route 40; De las Flechass Gorge (Arrows ravine) to finally arrive at Cafayate. Accommodation
  • DAY 04: Cafayate | Salta In the morning we will take a brief tour of the town including a visit to a winery. After lunch (not included) departur towards Salta visiting Quebrada de Cafayate (Cafayate Gorge). Arrival at Salta and transfer to the hotel.
  • DAY 05: Salta | San Antonio de los Cobres Early departure following the route of the Train to the Clouds rails. Travelling this route we will see this impressive engineering masterpiece with its viaducts; switchbacks and loops. We finally arrive at the small village of San Antonio de los Cobres. After lunch we will continue towards Polvorrilla Viaduct; one of the most impressive engineering masterpieces. Return to San Antonio de los Cobres. Accommodation at Hosteria de las Nubes
  • DAY 06: San Antonio de los Cobres | San Pedro de Atacama Early departure towards Salinas Grandes; the third biggest salt plain in the world. Later we will arrive at Susques; have lunch and visit the village with its enchanting church. We continue to Paso de Jama to reach Atacama.Accommodation.
  • DAY 07: San Pedro de Atacama Departure toward Atacama Salt Lake. We continue to arrive to the Atacama Salt Lake. It is located in the center of the most barren desert of the world. We will have the opportunity to admire the great variety of flamingoes and migratory birds that have found in the enormous salt their natural habitat; these birds give a very peculiar atmosphere to the sector
  • DAY 08: San Pedro de Atacama Early departure to the El Tatio Geysers. This is a geothermal field located in the Andes Mountains which presents at the early hours of the morning an impressive steaming fumaroles activity produced by high temperature of its craters. Return to San Pedro and in the afternoon visit the Valley of the Moon. It is an interesting area of formation of stone and sand and it was declared Sanctuary of the Nature. The mythical Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and it is a sheer 425- meter (1;394-foot) high rocky promontory. For many years it was an important navigation route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans; and it is known as the End of the Earth. The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2005. Lunch. In the afternoon; we will go ashore at historical Wulaia Bay; originally the site of one of the regions largest Yamana aboriginal settlement. Charles Darwin landed there in 1833; during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We will walk through a Magellan forest of lengas; coigand#252;es; canelos; ferns; and other endemic vegetation to reach a panoramic viewpoint. Dinner.
  • DAY 06: Australis Cruise We will be sailing through Brecknock; Ocasion; Cockburn; and Magdalena Channels to enter the spectacular De Agostini Sound; in the heart of Darwin Mountain Range. In this area we can see glaciers descending the mountainside all the way down to the sea. Lunch. In the afternoon; onboard Zodiac boats; we will route to Aguila Glacier where we will take an easy walk all the way the base of the glacier. We will experience the beauty of Patagonias cold rainforest and see how the power of nature molded the areas landscape. Dinner.
  • DAY 07: Australis Cruise | Puerto Natales Early in the morning (and weather permitting) we will go ashore on Magdalena Island; located in the middle of the Strait of Magellan. The island used to be an essential source of supplies for navigators and explorers and is inhabited by an immense colony of Magellan Penguins that we will be able to see during our walk to the lighthouse. In September and April this excursion is replaced by a ride on Zodiac boat to Marta Island to observe South American Sea Lions. Finally; disembarking at Punta Arenas is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and transfer to the bus terminal to take the regular bus to Puerto Natales.
  • DAY 08: Puerto Natales Day dedicated to know the Torres del Paine National Park; declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Road to the park we will stop at the ancient Milodon Cave. During the tour we will take a short hike to discover the Salto Grande. Lunch. During the afternoon; continue to the Grey Glacier sector; where there will be a hike through forests of beech and towering icebergs of Grey Glacier. Return to Puerto Natales.
  • DAY 09: Puerto Natales | El Calafate In the morning transfer to the bus terminal to take the regular bus to El Calafate. Arrival and reception at the bus station; transfer to the hotel.
  • DAY 10: El Calafate Day at leisure to enjoy an optional excursion to Estancia Cristina and climb to the lookout where you can get a beautiful view of the Upsala Glacier (Available from October to April.
