• Day 1. Welcome to Dublin! Arrive in Dublin. In the afternoon; explore the attractions of Europes most popular city. Dublin has a wealth of treasures for the visitor with cultural delights like St. Patricks Cathedral; Dublin Castle; Trinity College to name but a few! For those who prefer a more relaxed look at the capital; a leisurely browse through the main shopping area of Grafton Street is an absolute must. Overnight in Dublin.
• Day 2. Newgrange; Hill Of Tara and Trim Castle Today head to Newgrange; a monument which was constructed over 5;000 years ago making it older than Stonehenge in England and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Also visit Knowth and Dowth which are similar mounds that together with Newgrange have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the afternoon; visit the Hill of Tara.Though best known as the seat of the High Kings of Ireland; the Hill of Tara has been an important site since the late Stone Age when a passage-tomb was constructed there. Head then to Trim Castle; the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland and was constructed over a thirty year period by Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter. Overnight in Dulin
• Day 3. Clonmacnoise Today drive to the West of Ireland and on your way stop at Lockes Distillery. It is the only small pot still whiskey distillery remaining in Ireland; the only examples of what used to be a widespread Irish industry. Visit also Clonmacnoise; an early Christian site founded by Saint Ciaran in the 6th century on the banks of the River Shannon. The site includes the ruins of a cathedral; 8 churches (10th-13th century); 2 round towers; 3 high crosses and a large collection of early Christian grave slabs. Overnight in Co. Galway.
• Day 4. Aran Islands Today take the ferry to visit one of the Aran Islands; the beautiful island of Inishmore. Old island traditions live on. Gaelic is the first language among the islanders. Inishmore is a paradise of flora and fauna but also a vast open-air museum; rich in archaeological and monastic sites. You can tour the island by minibus and visit the impressive stone fort Dun Aengus. In the afternoon explore Galway. This medieval city is a whirlwind of activity with pubs and restaurants; arts; crafts and culture; bursting with things to do and people to meet. Overnight in Co. Galway.
• Day 5 Bunratty Castle and Burren Today on route to Killarney visit the Burren; a vast lunar landscape harbouring some 2000 species of rare plants and flowers. Beneath the surface are unique rock formations dating back two million years. You will find into this region the famous Poulnabrone Dolmen. Stop then at the towering Cliffs of Moher; a famous feature of County Clare which stretches for approximately five miles along the rugged coastline. Continue south and stop at Bunratty Castle. The Castle is the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. Built in 1425 it was restored in 1954 to its former medieval splendour and now contains mainly 15th and 16th century furnishings; and works of art which capture the mood of those times. Overnight in Co. Kerry.
• Day 6. Skellig Island This morning visit the world-famous Skellig Island (boat trips run from early April to mid October; weather permitting). Skellig Michael is known throughout the world of archaeology as the site of a well-preserved monastic outpost of the Early Christian period now designated a World Heritage Site. In the afternoon visit to Muckross House and Gardens where the nineteenth century Victorian mansion is set against the stunning beauty of Killarney Lakes and National Park. Overnight in Co. Kerry.
• Day 7. Kenmare Bay Travel to Cork via the picturesque villages of Kenamre and Glengarriff. From Glengarriff you can take a ferry to Garnish Island (weather permitting; the boat operates from April to October). The Island has a wonderful history and its unusual micro climate allows a range of exotic subtropical plant species to flourish. Then continue to Bantry and visit Bantry House. It is not only one of the finest historic houses in Ireland but it also commands one of the best views overlooking Bantry Bay in West Cork. Overnight in Co. Cork.
• Day 8. Rock of Cashel; Kilkenny In the morning time to discover one of the Irelands most popular cityCork. Here you can visit the English Market. This wonderful market is a self-caterers paradise with so many tasty delicacies to choose from its hard to show restraint. The emphasis is on local produce; with cheeses; ham; buttered eggs; sausages; bread and smoked salmon on offer. In the afternoon head to Rock of Cashel. Towering over the town from its perch on a 200 foot high outcrop of limestone; the Rock was once the seat of the Kings of Munster. In the evening visit the lovely city of Kilkenny; medieval capital of Ireland. Overnight in Kilkenny.
• Day 9 Wicklow; Glendalough Today visit Co. Wicklow and enjoy some of the most beautiful countryside Ireland has to offer. In the heart of Wicklow you can also visit Glendalough one of Irelands most impressive monastic sites founded by St. Kevin in the 6th Century. Overnight in Dublin.
• Day 10 Departure This morning head to Dublin airport for your departure.
